Your support has helped us spread our love to those in need and model compassion and empathy for the children in our Centre. Thanksgiving Lunch!

Miss Grace made such a yummy Thanksgiving Lunch for everyone! We had turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, a brussel-sprout- sweet potato dish and mini apple crisp cheesecakes for dessert. We are so lucky to have our Miss Grace!!

The Centre has set up a block area with pictures of not only the children and teachers but also of places and things the children see when they are on walks or out with their families!

A Special Visit 

St. Joachim Children's Centre hosted Tools for Life Corporation Georgia Project Meetings on August 16th. It was a lovely visit, both the staff and children enjoyed showing everyone around the Centre! 

Our Summer Programs  

The Daycare, JK/SK and PJ Groups have had a super-duper summer! 

Miss Grace's Boots 

" A group of children noticed a pair of boots in the garbage. They continued to return to the boots and question why they were in there. We decided to retrieve them to take a closer look."

 

The children came up with different ideas on what to do with Miss Grace's boots. They decided to paint them .... wonder what they will come up with next!?

It's Spring Time!!

Happy McHappy Day! 

On May 2nd the children got to have McDonalds for lunch! From our lunch we raised $50.00 for the Ronald McDonald House. Happy McHappy Day!!

EASTER! 

March Break

The Daycare Group:  

Each day has been a different character theme day! Monday Peppa Pig day, Tuesday Paw Patrol day, Wednesday PJ Mask day, Thursday Doc Mcstuffin's and Friday a St. Patty's Day celebration! 

The JK/SK Group: 

Each day the jk/sk group have been talking about and exploring space! They have been having a blast to the moon and back.

The PJ Group: 

Each day the pj group have been building! Using different materials the kids have been able to build some pretty cool things.

PA Day Fun

Friday March 2, 2018 the children from all groups had a fun PA Day! 

The Daycare group had a beach day. The kids pretended they were in sunny Hawaii and got to wear shorts, t-shirts and sandals and even brought their towels. We had a picnic lunch and teddy bear beach cupcakes. 

The JK/SK group had Olympic day to celebrate the ending of the Winter Olympics of 2018. The day was filled with different sports and got to spend both time outside and in the gym. 

The School Aged group had a building day. The kids got to build different items and got to take them home. The day ended with some birthday cake popcorn. 

Around the World 

The children pinned everywhere that they have been with their families and the teachers got to as well. It was fun seeing where everyone has been!! 

We would like to fill the map now with pictures of where we have been! If families have any photos of their adventures we will pin them up on our map. 

Pancake Tuesday! 

 

The children got to make their own pancakes for lunch and oh boy they were yummy! They made chocolate chip, blueberry and banana. 

Dino-City! 

The children have enjoyed learning and talking about Dinosaurs! A lot of children even wore their Dino shirts! 

Snuggle Up & Read Day! 

January 25th was snuggle up & read day! Each teacher picked out a book and had activities for the children to do. Everyone even got to wear their Pj's It was a fun day! 

Can you find 20 items?

The children made 20 foot prints which were placed all around the daycare. After doing that they wanted to find more 20 items. They found 10 pairs of boots and learned that 10 + 10 = 20! The children then found 20 little feet. Can we find more 20 items? 

2017, what a year!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas 

The children have had so much fun getting ready for Christmas. On Friday December 1st we had our Christmas Open House. Children from all groups and their families came to join with singing, dancing, cookie decorating, making ornaments for the Christmas tree and decorating Paw Patrol gingerbread houses! Thank you to all the families that came out and a special thank you to Mrs. Winchester for playing the piano! 

Friday December 15th was the Grinch Stole Christmas day! The children got to do some fun activities with the Grinch story which included art crafts, face painting and reading, as well as watching the Grinch! The children also got to eat a yummy Grinch heart. 

 

 Thursday December 21st was our Christmas lunch! Miss Grace made a yummy lunch for everyone and she, she herself ...Miss Grace...carved the roast-beast and the kids well they'd FEAST! FEAST! FEAST! The kids also got a frosty treat, it was an awesome day. 

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star 

The children have been talking about stars and all the shapes a star can be. The children have been making constellations and star play-doh! They even got to lay under the stars and share times they saw a star and even shooting stars! 

It's Fall Here at St. Joachim Children's Centre

St. Joachim Children's Centre has been decorated with lots and lots of pumpkins!! 

The Centre even went to a pumpkin patch on Friday October 27th. The children got to go on a wagon ride, play with tractors, see farm animals, and got to pick a little pumpkin to take home. Ms Zuppa picked our classroom pumpkin too! It was a lovely day! 

The Butterfly Conservatory 

The JK/SK and School Aged group had such a fun day exploring the Butterfly Conservatory! They even got to hold some bugs!! 

The Daycare's Trip to the Gymnastics! 

We had a fun day at the Ancaster Gymnastics! The kids loved jumping around and swinging on the bars! At the end we all got stamps on our hands and feet.  

Ant & Snail City!  

The School Aged group have been working hard on making an ant and snail city! They have collected different items found in our playground to build it. There is even a hospital! 

The Big Red Jeep!

Mrs. Ross-Baxter brought in her sons jeep for the kids to see! They enjoyed sitting in the drivers seat and beeping the horn!

Our day at Binbrook Park! 

The JK/SK and School Aged group had a fun day at Binbrook Park on Tuesday July 25th. 

The JK/SK group had fun playing in the field chasing bubbles, climbing on rocks, and playing in the sand. The kids had so much fun as well in the splash pad.

The School Aged group loved the splash pad! When digging in the sand, they found some clay!

 

Everyone enjoyed a yummy BBQ hot dog lunch. It was a great day!  

Our African Lion Safari Trip!  

St. Joachim Children's Centre had an amazing trip on Wednesday July 19th! Each group got to go on the safari bus to see lots of different animals! The lions and the monkeys seemed to be everyones favourite! 

We all got to eat a yummy picnic lunch together and then each group went to explore! 

The Daycare and JK/SK group got to go on a boat and train ride! 

The School Aged group got to catch a show and then enjoyed the sunny afternoon in the water park!

It was a "wild" day! 

Our First Water Day

We Got Strawberries!! 

Our New Garden!  

A BIG thank you to the Coleman family for making the Centre a beautiful garden box! Also, for donating all the supplies we needed and some strawberry plants. The children and staff are excited to watch the strawberries grow and eat them all up!
